Seasons of rocco (2024)

Step into the enchanting world of 'Seasons Of Rocco,' where nature reclaims its space, and a lovable raccoon named Rocco looks to you for guidance. In this cozy simulation, your goal is to assist Rocco in surviving the challenges of each winter.

Seasons of Rocco is a 3D cozy game made by Dutch independent game studio Vivid Visions in 2024. In a team of 17 people, Maya Thao led as Art Director for a group of 6 artists to visualize the concept pitched by the game designers.

In this project, I was in charge of the artistic direction and helped develop the look and feel of this game, as well as closely overseeing the execution of the artist vision such as 3D modelling, texturing, rigging, and animation.

There were a lot of disputes within the making of this game, but it was an invaluable learning and collaborative experience as an art director.

The game is received as “Mostly Positive” on Steam, with many highlighting the cuteness of the character design and art style. It has also been picked up by a few Let’s-Play Youtubers and channels that specialize in cozy game recommendations.
